Welcome to the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol,
Drug and Gambling Counselors

Our mission is to protect the public by setting standards of qualifications, training and experience to those who represent themselves to the public as alcohol and drug abuse counselors or problem gambling counselors and by promoting high standards of professional competence of those engaged in the practice of alcohol and drug abuse counseling or problem gambling counseling.

On behalf of the members of the Board and staff, we hope this web site will prove to be a useful tool for both the public and for certified and licensed alcohol and drug abuse personnel.

For individuals seeking certification or licensure in the State of Nevada, a request for application is provided under the forms link.

On June 9, 1999, Senate Bill 210 was approved by the Governor establishing that the practice of counseling alcohol and drug abusers is a learned profession, affecting the general public health, safety and welfare and is subject to regulation to protect the public from the practice of counseling alcohol and drug abusers by unqualified persons. This bill established NRS 641C.
